From the buzzing piazzas of Italy to the terraces, balconies, and backyards of Quebec, the spritz is now a must-have for enjoying the good moments of the beautiful season.

A simple mix of sparkling wine, with sparkling water or seltzer water and bitter liqueur (Aperol, Campari red, or Amermelade), not to mention ice cubes and an orange slice. The spritz stands out as THE summer cocktail to be enjoyed while snacking on antipasti to your heart's content. What if this is the dolce vita?

Ingredients

90 ml (3 oz.) sparkling wine

60 ml (2 oz.) bitter liqueur (like Aperol, Campari or Amermelade)

25 ml (3/4 oz.) club soda

Ice cubes

½ an orange slice, for garnish

Preparation

Combine all the ingredients, except for the orange slice, in a wine glass filled with ice cubes.
Stir using a mixing spoon.
Garnish with the half-slice of orange and serve. Salute!
