- Pour the wine and brandy (if using) into a saucepan. Add the brown sugar, spices, and citrus peels.
- Warm gently over low-medium heat until steaming, without boiling.
- Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes to allow the flavours to infuse.
- Strain if desired, and serve hot in heatproof glasses or mugs. Salute!
